Currently, one has to compile OpenMPI on his own for using it with the MATLAB bindings. The other alternative is using MPICH (see https://github.com/precice/matlab-bindings#restrictions). Note that this requires the user to also build preCICE with the respective MPI implementation. Can we also support OpenMPI installed via apt? This is probably the way most of our users go.
