…calls `resolve_global_binding` runs for every `CallExpression` / `NewExpression` whose callee is a plain identifier. When the callee was not an unresolved global -- i.e. almost always -- it called `Scoping::find_binding`, which walks the scope chain upward from the call site, probing one bindings map per ancestor scope. The semantic binder has already resolved that reference: an `IdentifierReference` either appears in `root_unresolved_references` (checked just above) or carries a resolved `symbol_id`, and the binder resolved it by walking the same scope chain. So read the symbol straight off the reference with `ctx.scoping().get_reference(ident.reference_id()).symbol_id()`, like `react/no_array_index_key` does, and drop the scope-id plumbing that only existed to feed `find_binding`. Behavior is unchanged for JS. For TS, `find_binding`'s name-only walk could stop at a flag-incompatible binding (e.g. an `interface X` shadowing an outer `let X` between the call site and its binding) and miss a report; the resolved reference points at the binding the call actually refers to. No test or snapshot changes.

…cope walk (#23895) ## What `no-obj-calls` is a default-enabled (correctness) rule that runs for every `CallExpression` and `NewExpression`. For plain identifier callees — the dominant callee form — `resolve_global_binding` first checks `root_unresolved_references`, and when the callee is locally bound (i.e. almost always) it called `Scoping::find_binding`, which walks the scope chain upward from the call site doing one bindings-map probe per ancestor scope. That walk re-derives information the semantic pass already computed: the binder resolved this exact reference by walking the same chain, and stored the result on the reference. ## Change Read the symbol straight off the resolved reference instead: ```rust ctx.scoping().get_reference(ident.reference_id()).symbol_id() ``` This is O(1) and matches what `react/no_array_index_key` already does. The `scope_id`/node plumbing that only existed to feed `find_binding` is removed. ## Performance | Fixture | Before | After | Δ | |---|---:|---:|---:| | binder.ts | 178.1 µs | 146.7 µs | **−17.7%** | | App.tsx | 342.1 µs | 300.8 µs | **−12.1%** | | kitchen-sink.tsx | 669.2 µs | 628.6 µs | **−6.1%** | | react.development.js | 92.3 µs | 87.2 µs | **−5.5%** | | RadixUIAdoptionSection.jsx | 1.39 µs | 1.40 µs | ~0 | Linting TypeScript's `checker.ts` (TypeScript v5.3.3) with only `no-obj-calls` enabled: | File | Before | After | Δ | |---|---:|---:|---:| | checker.ts | 3.11 ms | 2.51 ms | **−19.3%** | ## Verification - `cargo test -p oxc_linter --lib` — 1162 passed, no snapshot changes - `cargo clippy -p oxc_linter --all-targets --no-deps -- -D warnings` — clean - `cargo fmt --check` — clean This PR was assisted by Claude Code.
