I'm still leaning towards it because I didn't love any other suggestions (typically because they consist only of general nouns). But as of this moment it's still not finalized, still tormenting myself about it

Something to add: starting with the letter M can be beneficial because in listings of dependencies or directories, the two projects will be nearby. And typing the project name starting with the letter M can be beneficial due to muscle memory or whatever.

I now see that the conflicts with various projects named "monty" cannot be downplayed. So that name is out

PyMarkDocs sounds the best to me personally, but sadly is a project named PyMarkDoc already on PyPI, so there would be a chance of confusion and issue reports on either sides (either people complaining to us that their docstrings aren't rendered or to the PyMarkDoc people that their markdown files aren't turned into html).

The Plus on PyDocsPlus sounds a bit out of place... When I read Plus, I imagine some addition to an existing system, not a standalone thing...

Welp, the fact that I grabbed the name ProperDocs on GitHub made it impossible to rename this organization to that name. So I have to use the empty organization and move only the repositories to there instead.

There can be some confusion in a Google search (right now it suggests that you spelled it wrong but also finds some very small websites with a direct march).

And "Hound" has a secondary a negative definition to it.

Sure, the name doesn't actually mean anything, it just says that it's docs. But maybe the name doesn't have to fully represent all parts of the project. I'm not willing to go for abbreviations in order to achieve that. And I think many successful projects tend to have just random names with no relevant meaning.

And I don't see the other kinds of flaws in "MontyDocs" that I've been mentioning for other names. By metrics of being able to: remember it correctly, pronounce it, search for it - I still think it wins out.

Other than this I don't know what to say. I was hoping to see some new idea that I would love and others would clearly prefer, but I don't see it :(

Good point... whereas for example something like "BetterDocs" can't possibly imply that it's docs for some other software. Why is that so? Because it's an adjective. But I don't like an adjective like that, it's maybe too cheeky.
