What Problem This Solves

Resolves a problem where the OpenClaw repository changelog still carries the compact generated v2026.6.9 section instead of the approved, evidence-reviewed public changelog for that release.

Why This Change Was Made

This replaces the existing CHANGELOG.md v2026.6.9 section with the final release-notes workflow output. The generated section is the canonical public changelog draft from the v2026.6.9 investigation, with the corrected Highlights container shape and named feature entries, while release-body updates remain a separate post-merge step.

User Impact

Readers get the reviewed v2026.6.9 changelog in the repository, including clearer feature grouping, inline documentation links, source references, contributor attribution, and the same public story approved by the release-notes workflow.

Evidence

  • Release-analysis dispatcher validated 1751/1751 units complete with active=0, pending=0, reserved=0, and failed=0.
  • Canonical copy validation passed with 573/573 public changelog units rendered and 130 changelog docs links checked.
  • Maintainer changelog validation passed with 1178/1178 audit-only units rendered separately.
  • Semantic copy review approved the final public artifacts with 0 findings and 0 major findings.
  • Publication comparison returned approved-with-warnings; warnings were reviewed as publication-shape and metadata differences, not semantic blockers for this changelog PR.

Codex review: found issues before merge. Reviewed June 27, 2026, 2:16 PM ET / 18:16 UTC.

Summary
The PR replaces the compact v2026.6.9 entry in CHANGELOG.md with an expanded release-generated changelog section.

PR surface: Docs +998. Total +998 across 1 file.

Reproducibility: not applicable. this is a changelog replacement rather than a runtime bug. The review path is source comparison between current main, the latest release tag, the PR head copy, and the live PR metadata.

Review metrics: none identified.

Merge readiness
Overall: 🦐 gold shrimp
Proof: 🌊 off-meta tidepool
Patch quality: 🦐 gold shrimp
Result: ready for maintainer review.

Overall follows the weaker of proof and patch quality, so missing proof can cap an otherwise strong patch.

Rank-up moves:

  • [P2] Fix the visible generated-copy defects in the PR head.
  • Have the release owner preserve or rerun semantic-copy and link validation for the corrected artifact.

Risk before merge

  • [P1] The public changelog would ship visible generated-copy defects if merged as-is.
  • [P1] The PR body claims release generator, semantic-copy, and link validations, but this read-only review did not rerun those validations after the latest force-push; manual copy edits could drift from the canonical release artifact.

Maintainer options:

  1. Fix the canonical release copy before merge (recommended)
Have the release owner correct the generated changelog artifact and preserve or rerun semantic-copy and link validation before landing this section.
  2. Accept the release artifact as-is
Maintainers may intentionally land the artifact despite the copy defects if it exactly matches an approved release-output snapshot they want preserved.
  3. Pause the draft
Leave the PR draft open or close it until the release-notes workflow produces a clean canonical changelog section.

Next step before merge

  • [P2] Needs release-owner copy and artifact validation rather than an automated fix because CHANGELOG.md is release-owned and the PR is maintainer-labeled draft work.

Security
Cleared: The diff only changes CHANGELOG.md and adds no code execution, dependency, workflow, lockfile, secret-handling, or supply-chain surface.

Review findings

  • [P3] Fix the generated Workboard sentence — CHANGELOG.md:220
  • [P3] Complete the Slack progress sentence — CHANGELOG.md:250
  • [P3] Normalize UI and WSL casing — CHANGELOG.md:884
Review details

Best possible solution:

Have the release owner correct the canonical generated v2026.6.9 changelog artifact, rerun or preserve copy and link validation, then land the release-owned CHANGELOG.md update.

Do we have a high-confidence way to reproduce the issue?

Not applicable; this is a changelog replacement rather than a runtime bug. The review path is source comparison between current main, the latest release tag, the PR head copy, and the live PR metadata.

Is this the best way to solve the issue?

Yes for the file boundary: CHANGELOG.md is the release-owned surface for this update. The current head is not merge-ready until the generated-copy defects are fixed and release-owner validation is preserved or rerun.

Full review comments:

  • [P3] Fix the generated Workboard sentence — CHANGELOG.md:220
This line reads so users can and plugin users run, which is a generated-copy defect in a public changelog entry. Reword it before publishing the expanded section.
    Confidence: 0.96
  • [P3] Complete the Slack progress sentence — CHANGELOG.md:250
This release-note line ends with consistently with bare., which reads like a truncated generated sentence. It should name the comparison target or drop the fragment.
    Confidence: 0.95
  • [P3] Normalize UI and WSL casing — CHANGELOG.md:884
The expanded section contains generated casing defects such as windows/WSL, wSL, uI, and tUI. Use the standard Windows, WSL, UI, and TUI forms throughout before publishing.
    Confidence: 0.95
  • [P3] Complete the Docker setup list — CHANGELOG.md:888
This sentence ends after upgrades, token changes, configuration updates, which is missing the final conjunction or object. Complete the list before publishing the changelog.
    Confidence: 0.9

Overall correctness: patch is correct
Overall confidence: 0.89

Label changes

Label changes:

  • add merge-risk: 🚨 other: Green CI does not prove the expanded generated release copy is artifact-consistent or free of public changelog copy defects.

Label justifications:

  • P3: This is a low-risk release-changelog documentation update with no runtime, config, migration, or security execution surface.
  • merge-risk: 🚨 other: Green CI does not prove the expanded generated release copy is artifact-consistent or free of public changelog copy defects.
  • rating: 🦐 gold shrimp: Overall readiness is 🦐 gold shrimp; proof is 🌊 off-meta tidepool and patch quality is 🦐 gold shrimp.
  • status: 👀 ready for maintainer look: ClawSweeper has no concrete contributor-facing blocker left for this PR. Not applicable: Not applicable because this is a maintainer-labeled changelog-only PR; runtime after-fix proof is not a useful gate for release-copy review.

What I checked:

  • Repository policy: Root policy marks CHANGELOG.md as release-only and owned by release generation, so this PR is in the right file but needs release-owner artifact validation. (AGENTS.md:234, 98ed83f848de)
  • Current main behavior: Current main still has a compact v2026.6.9 changelog section starting at line 100, so the expanded section is not already implemented on main. (CHANGELOG.md:100, 98ed83f848de)
  • PR head behavior: The PR head adds the expanded v2026.6.9 section beginning at line 100. (CHANGELOG.md:100, be765059699d)
  • Latest release provenance: Latest release v2026.6.10 still contains the compact v2026.6.9 section, so this expanded changelog text has not shipped in the latest release. (CHANGELOG.md:44, aa69b12d0086)
  • Generated copy defects: The current PR head still contains visible generated-copy defects at lines 220, 250, 884, 888, 906, 1028, 1149, 1155, and 1183. (CHANGELOG.md:220, be765059699d)
  • Live PR state: Live GitHub metadata shows the PR is open, draft, cleanly mergeable, maintainer-labeled, and changes only CHANGELOG.md at head be76505. (CHANGELOG.md, be765059699d)

Likely related people:

  • hannesrudolph: Authored the merged v2026.6.10 changelog update and also owns the current PR branch, so the release-note surface is part of their recent current-main history beyond this proposal. (role: recent release changelog contributor; confidence: high; commits: e5123e44b0f5, be765059699d; files: CHANGELOG.md)
  • joshavant: git blame ties the compact v2026.6.9 section currently on main to their commit. (role: current section contributor; confidence: high; commits: ff35f3bb2cd6; files: CHANGELOG.md)
  • vincentkoc: Authored the v2026.6.10 changelog refresh commit that is tagged as the latest release-adjacent changelog history. (role: adjacent release changelog contributor; confidence: medium; commits: aa69b12d0086; files: CHANGELOG.md)
What the crustacean ranks mean
  • 🦀 challenger crab: rare, exceptional readiness with strong proof, clean implementation, and convincing validation.
  • 🦞 diamond lobster: very strong readiness with only minor maintainer review expected.
  • 🐚 platinum hermit: good normal PR, likely mergeable with ordinary maintainer review.
  • 🦐 gold shrimp: useful signal, but proof or patch confidence is still limited.
  • 🦪 silver shellfish: thin signal; proof, validation, or implementation needs work.
  • 🧂 unranked krab: not merge-ready because proof is missing/unusable or there are serious correctness or safety concerns.
  • 🌊 off-meta tidepool: rating does not apply to this item.

Shiny media proof means a screenshot, video, or linked artifact directly shows the changed behavior. Runtime, network, CSP, and security claims still need visible diagnostics.

How this review workflow works
  • ClawSweeper keeps one durable marker-backed review comment per issue or PR.
  • Re-runs edit this comment so the latest verdict, findings, and automation markers stay together instead of adding duplicate bot comments.
  • A fresh review can be triggered by eligible @clawsweeper re-review comments, exact-item GitHub events, scheduled/background review runs, or manual workflow dispatch.
  • PR/issue authors and users with repository write access can comment @clawsweeper re-review or @clawsweeper re-run on an open PR or issue to request a fresh review only.
  • Maintainers can also comment @clawsweeper review to request a fresh review only.
  • Fresh-review commands do not start repair, autofix, rebase, CI repair, or automerge.
  • Maintainer-only repair and merge flows require explicit commands such as @clawsweeper autofix, @clawsweeper automerge, @clawsweeper fix ci, or @clawsweeper address review.
  • Maintainers can comment @clawsweeper explain to ask for more context, or @clawsweeper stop to stop active automation.
