Summary

disable Anthropic eager_input_streaming only for GitHub Copilot Claude 4.5 model IDs, whose proxy routes reject the field
preserve eager tool streaming for newer Copilot Claude models that accept it
cover dotted and hyphenated IDs across static defaults, synthetic forward-compatible models, and live catalog projection
keep official Anthropic and OpenAI provider behavior unchanged

This also fixes the Claude schema-rejection half of #91622. That issue should remain open for its separate gpt-5.4-mini Responses incomplete-turn report.

Real behavior proof

Behavior addressed: GitHub Copilot Claude 4.5 tool requests fail because the Copilot proxy rejects Anthropic's per-tool eager_input_streaming field.

Real environment tested: Production GitHub Copilot, Anthropic, and OpenAI APIs through OpenClaw's provider transports; Linux changed gate in AWS Crabbox.

Exact steps or command run after this patch: Exchanged the configured GitHub Copilot credential, built models through buildCopilotModelDefinition, and ran OpenClaw completeSimple requests with a forced noop tool choice for claude-haiku-4.5 and claude-sonnet-4.6. Then ran forced noop tool calls through the official Anthropic claude-haiku-4-5 and OpenAI gpt-5.5 endpoints.

Evidence after fix: Before the patch, Copilot Haiku 4.5 sent eager_input_streaming=true and returned 400 tools.0.custom.eager_input_streaming: Extra inputs are not permitted. After the patch, Haiku 4.5 sent no eager field and returned stopReason=toolUse, tool=noop. Copilot Sonnet 4.6 still sent the eager field and returned the same successful tool call. Official Anthropic and OpenAI forced tool calls also returned stopReason=toolUse, tool=noop.
