Summary

Fixes iMessage DM echo: corrupted prefix breaks text-based dedup (v2026.3.31+) #59973 by normalizing known leading iMessage attributedBody corruption bytes before echo-cache text-key comparison.
Keeps normalization leading-only so intentional interior replacement characters, tabs, and line breaks do not collapse distinct messages.
Adds focused regression coverage for delayed reflected echoes with leading U+FFFD-style corruption.

Contributor credit

This carries forward the useful work and investigation from neeravmakwana in #59980 and maguilar631697 / Danny Aguilar in #62191. ProjectClownfish could not use those closed/unhydrated contributor paths directly, so this replacement preserves attribution.

Current main still lacks the proposed leading iMessage attributedBody corruption-marker normalization, and the latest release has the same CRLF/trim-only echo-cache behavior with the 4s text fallback. The PR is a plausible narrow implementation candidate, but maintainers should consolidate it with the overlapping iMessage echo-prefix PRs and decide separately whether #59973 also needs a TTL change.

Best possible solution:

Keep this PR open for maintainer review. The best path is to consolidate the active iMessage leading-corruption-marker PRs into one canonical patch, keep #63581's NUL-byte handling separate unless intentionally combined, preserve contributor credit from #59980 and #62191, and decide separately whether #59973 needs a text-TTL change. The fix should stay in extensions/imessage/src/monitor/echo-cache.ts with focused regression coverage in the iMessage monitor tests.
