**`content` param may never be populated by the agent**
The edit handler reads `ctx.params.content` for the updated message text, but the framework's base message tool schema (`buildSendSchema`) exposes `message` — not `content` — as the primary text field. An agent following the schema would pass `text` or `message`, which would leave `ctx.params.content` as `undefined`, causing this handler to always return the `"Edit requires content."` error.
Slack's `action-runtime.ts` follows the same `content` convention, but only because Slack's action name is `editMessage` and the model has been trained/prompted to use that field in that context. For `action=edit` with the generic message tool the model will default to the schema-defined `message` or `text` fields.
Consider also reading `ctx.params.text` and `ctx.params.message` as fallbacks:
```suggestion
const content =
typeof ctx.params.content === "string"
? ctx.params.content
: typeof ctx.params.text === "string"
? ctx.params.text
: typeof ctx.params.message === "string"
? ctx.params.message
: "";
```
How can I resolve this? If you propose a fix, please make it concise.

Accept canonical message field for Teams edit action
The new edit handler only reads ctx.params.content, so standard message-tool calls that pass message (the shared schema’s canonical text field) will fail with Edit requires content. even when valid edit text is provided. In practice this makes the new Teams edit action unusable in normal agent flows unless callers know an undocumented content override. Please accept message (and ideally text for parity with other channels) when resolving edit text.

Solid feature addition, follows established proactive send patterns, good error handling with classifyMSTeamsSendError, proper input validation in the channel action handler.
Two issues to address:
-
Duplicate
self()implementation: This PR includes the sameself()code as #49929. Whichever lands second will conflict. Recommend merging #49929 first and rebasing this to drop the duplicate. -
updateActivitystrips rich content: Edits send{ type: 'message', id: activityId, text }— this will strip any existing attachments or Adaptive Cards from the original message. Worth documenting this limitation, even if acceptable for v1. -
Minor: No Adaptive Card edit support (text-only). Fine for initial implementation, just noting for future.
Overall: ✅ once the self() duplicate is resolved after #49929 merges.

Allow edit action to fall back to current channel target
The new Teams edit handler rejects requests unless to/target is explicitly set, but shared message-action normalization intentionally treats edit with messageId as already target-qualified and does not backfill to from tool context. In practice, an agent call like action=edit with messageId in an active Teams thread reaches this branch with to === "" and returns an error instead of editing the current conversation; this makes the feature fail in common in-thread edit flows unless callers redundantly pass target. Please resolve to from ctx.toolContext?.currentChannelId before returning this error.

Clean implementation of edit/delete via proactive continueConversation pattern. Good test coverage across success and error paths.
Minor notes:
- Edit action doesn't return
messageIdin its response (send does) — slight inconsistency in the action contract, not blocking. updateActivitysignature insdk-types.tswill need reconciliation with #49580's stricter version after merge.

Review: msteams message edit and delete support
Verdict: Approve ✅
Solid implementation that brings edit/delete parity with Slack, Discord, and Telegram.
What works well
continueConversation→updateActivity/deleteActivityis the correct Bot Framework pattern for proactive message mutations. This avoids the common mistake of trying to use Graph API for bot-owned message edits.- Type extensions are clean —
SendContextandMSTeamsTurnContextnow includeupdateActivityanddeleteActivity, which is the right place for these. - Parameter fallback chain (
text → content → message) for the edit action is pragmatic — different callers may use different field names, and this handles all of them gracefully. tofallback toctx.toolContext?.currentChannelIdmeans edits work even when the caller does not explicitly pass a target, matching the ergonomics of the send action.- Error handling follows existing patterns — validation errors return structured
isErrorresponses with descriptive messages. - Test coverage is reasonable — success paths, error paths, and the existing messenger tests were updated to include the new context methods.
Minor observations (non-blocking)
-
The messenger test updates add
updateActivity: noopUpdateActivityanddeleteActivity: noopDeleteActivityin many places. This is mechanical but correct — the type system now requires these on everySendContext. If this pattern gets unwieldy in the future, a factory function for testSendContextobjects would reduce boilerplate. -
The delete action returns
conversationIdin the success response, which is consistent with edit. Worth confirming this is useful to callers — for delete, the message is gone, soconversationIdis mostly informational.
CI failures
Not caused by this PR. Same pre-existing setup-surface.test.ts issue.
No blocking issues. Good work.

This causes "model not allowed" errors when switching between models from different providers. Root cause: resolveModelOverrideValue() and resolveDefaultModelValue() in app-render.helpers.ts, plus the /model slash command handler in slash-command-executor.ts, all call resolveServerChatModelValue() which trusts the session's default provider. The session provider reflects the PREVIOUS model, not the newly selected one. Fix: for bare model names, create a raw ChatModelOverride and resolve through normalizeChatModelOverrideValue() which looks up the correct provider from the model catalog. Summary
Adds message edit/update and delete support for the MS Teams extension, bringing feature parity with Slack, Discord, and Telegram for Tier 1 messaging operations.
editMessageMSTeams: proactive edit viacontinueConversation→updateActivitydeleteMessageMSTeams: proactive delete viacontinueConversation→deleteActivityaction=editandaction=deleteMSTeamsTurnContextextended withupdateActivity/deleteActivitytype surfacechannel.runtime.tsWhat & Why
Problem: MS Teams is the only Tier 1 integration that cannot edit or delete its own sent messages. Slack, Discord, and Telegram all support this. Without edit/delete, features like streaming (edit-based live preview), exec approval card updates, and message corrections are impossible.
Root cause: The msteams extension had zero edit/delete code —
updateActivityanddeleteActivitywere not referenced anywhere in the extension source.Fix: Added
editMessageMSTeamsanddeleteMessageMSTeamsfunctions using the proactivecontinueConversation→updateActivity/deleteActivityBot Framework pattern (matching the establishedsendMessageMSTeamspattern). Wired into channel actions so the agent can trigger edits/deletes via the standard action interface.Architecture
Two-path approach matching Bot Framework patterns:
TurnContext.updateActivity()/TurnContext.deleteActivity()(for edits during an active turn)adapter.continueConversation()→ contextupdateActivity/deleteActivity(for edits outside of the original turn — the common case for agent-initiated edits)Both functions follow the same proactive pattern already established by
