Summary

After upgrading from 5.7 to 5.12 (i think) with npm install -g openclaw@latest on 15 may. Behavior deteriorated.

Steps to reproduce

1. Install ollama and run command: ollama launch openclaw --model ssfdre38/gemma4-turbo:e2b
2. talk to the model to make sure it can reply coherently.
3. upgrade from 5.7 to 5.12 or latest using npm install -g
4. Your config should now have a default main model, use openclaw gateway restart
5. Talk to your openclaw via the gateway web UI and resuming the session you had.

Relevant config attached (cleaned).

Expected behavior

I was asking the agent about the TIRITH npm install before the upgrade. And I deleted the chocolately files in %appdata%\tirith and then installed npm install -g tirith instead. To resume the session, i said to the agent that I had solved the issue myself and that the agent didn't need to do anything. I expected it to reply with normal conversation

Actual behavior

Even a /new session kept replying NO after the update to openclaw@latest
