Description
Feature Request
Current behaviour: Talk Mode has a hard-coded client-side silence timeout that cuts off the user after a fixed period of silence. This causes repeated interruptions during natural pauses in speech (thinking, reading, etc.).
Desired behaviour: Make the silence timeout configurable, either:
- A setting in
openclaw.json(e.g.talk.silenceTimeoutMs: 5000) - A runtime toggle in Talk Mode UI (short/medium/long/manual)
- Both — config default with runtime override
Use case: Users who pause to think, read documents, or compose thoughts mid-sentence are constantly cut off. The current timeout is too aggressive for conversational use.
Environment: OpenClaw 2026.2.14, macOS, AirPods Pro
