clampThinkingLevel()clamps a requested reasoning level tooff(due to lack of model support), the adapter evaluatesclampedReasoning === 'off'astrueand sets theefforttohighwithenabled: true. This forces thinking to be enabled atHIGHlevel for models that should have it disabled, leading to unexpected API failures or token overhead.
