What about using mktemp to create the temp file?
This will respect TMPDIR (or TEMP on windows) and will also not break when we run than test suite per a version of OCaml at once.

This PR adds support for copying files from outside of the workspace in
(copy_files ...)(using absolute paths). This is currently unsupported (in fact, it causes a hard crash with backtrace).Looks like it is working in simple cases, but a second opinion appreciated!
