NVDA portable 2020.4 / Win10 20H2 / Firefox 86.0.1 (64-bit)
Hello. I don't know if this happens on other sites or in browsers other than Firefox. But on Netflix if you do something to cause an informational alert, then this alert is read out over and over, making the site unusable. Anything else you do, such as tab to a button, or try to read a plot synopsis, gets overridden by another repetition of the alert. If you start something playing, NVDA repeats the alert continuously over the playing video.
To recreate this:
Open any Netflix film or show tile, and do something like press the 'add or remove the item from your list' button. Or press it's 'rate thumbs up / down' button.
You will now hear something along the lines of 'alert: item was added to your list' repeated indefinitely. As already stated, try now to move to a different button then rather than hearing what button you are on, you will re-hear the alert. And of course no-one would want to hear a looped alert while they are trying to watch a film and / or listen to its audio description!
Another example is to start watching a show with a skippable intro. You will hear 'alert: press the S key to skip the intro' repeatedly.
I just hope there is some way to fix this so an alert is read only once!
Thanks for reading, and as ever, for NVDA.
