There's a Noto Sans Canadian Aboriginal family for pairing with Noto Sans Latin family, but a Noto Serif Canadian Aboriginal family for pairing with Noto Serif Latin family is missing, despite a commercial serif Canadian Aboriginal Syllabics type family is available (Lava Syllabics from Typotheque, even with italics). Also please add italics to Noto Sans Canadian aboriginal.

I suggest to develop a Noto Serif Canadian Aboriginal (wtih uprights and italic styles) as an alternative for those who can't afford the commercial Lava Syllabics from Typotheque (see this URL) and to add italics to Noto Sans Canadian Aboriginal.
