Apply list of ignored directories only on the project root. Otherwise for example this repository would not be linted in the l10n plugin.
If your app uses a different layout - it should not - then manually adjust it (this would be only needed for server).

I take it, removed directories are should be now covered with .gitignore?

yes

Apply list of ignored directories only on the project root.
Otherwise for example this repository would not be linted in the l10n
plugin.
If your app uses a different layout - it should not - then manually
adjust it (this would be only needed for server).

rebased (the other PR also fixed this now detected linter issue)
