HueManity: A Color Blindness Assistance App

HueManity is a mobile application designed to assist individuals with color blindness. Developed using Kotlin and Android, HueManity aims to provide a user-friendly and accessible tool for identifying colors and accessing resources related to color vision deficiencies.

The HueManity project was developed during the Hack4BT hackathon, organized by the student-run organization Binary Tree. The hackathon's mission is to provide free Computer Science and Tech Education to all, and this project is a part of that initiative.

The primary goal of HueManity is to help individuals with color blindness in identifying colors and providing resources related to color vision deficiencies. The app is built with a focus on accessibility, making it easy for users to use and understand.

Tech Stack:

  • Kotlin: The primary programming language used for the HueManity app.
  • Android: The mobile platform on which the app is built.

Problem Faced: One of the challenges faced during the development of HueManity was ensuring that the app is accessible and user-friendly for individuals with color blindness. To address this issue, the app was designed with a focus on color contrast, text size adjustability, and customizable color profiles.

In addition to addressing color blindness, HueManity also aims to provide resources related to color vision deficiencies, such as color charts, tutorials, and articles. This helps users understand and learn more about color blindness and how to identify colors in their daily lives.

The HueManity project is a valuable addition to the Hack4BT hackathon, as it provides a practical solution to a common challenge faced by individuals with color blindness.
