I have discovered a problem that is more serious than the cover caching issue, as it makes it impossible to use the application normally. When I start playback by pressing the button indicated by the arrow, all tracks are played. However, if I select a specific track and start playback from it, only the 500 tracks following the selected track and the 500 tracks preceding it are added to the queue.
