As a user, I was a bit confused by the description of this feature. It seems clearer this way.
The new "uncontrolled" mode is effectively very close to "The Inverse Sticky Technique" of https://pierre.computer/writing/on-rendering-diffs, but where it's missing the sticky behavior for the best of the two worlds (#22630).
