Immediate Use Cases

The Primitive Grouping WG Meetup focused on the need identify and describe use cases that would be enabled immediately upon rollout vs those that would be enabled by follow-on SEPs

• Client side enabling / disabling of primitives
  • Would require client having access to a list of primitives
  • Client could present a form with checkboxes next to each group, allowing the user to control which primitives will be included / excluded in LLM context
  • Would be most useful for tools and resources, both of which could potentially overwhelm context

Future Use Cases

• Filtering (ala SEP-1300)
• Search

Hierarchy

• Groups of primitives could still become quite large, and hierarchy is the logical way to subdivide large sets
• Namespaces SEP was rejected on the premise that hierarchies could be created with segmented tool names ala reverse domain syntax
  • On client, enabling/disabling could be done but only after fetching all instances of a primitive.
  • Doesn't extend to other primitives
• Simple parent field in Group definition would allow easy creation of hierarchies
• Deferred to next meeting is discussion of what problems hierarchies could present
  • Many groups, many levels deep with only groups as children
  • Client side filtering use case could be more complex

Requirements Gathering

• New document created as a tab in the meeting notes document

Outreach

• An effort will be made to bring new and previous voices into this discussion to gather use cases that we want to spotlight in the SEP
