I've spent a huge part of my professional life building with the open source community. I really enjoy the work, and I'd love to be able to advocate for it more. I do also really intensely dislike the gender imbalance and find that immensely difficult at times.

If you've fostered any open source community, it's not mkdocs. You made the first few contributions to it and then left the community management and maintenance to other people. It was only after many years of foregoing any involvement with this community that you decided to get back into it, only with a stance that community input doesn't matter. Only your opinions matter, and fuck all the male-identifying people here. You're fine to feel indignant at the imbalance in the broader community but it is not this community's fault, and taking out your anger on us is inappropriate and childish.

You may be in the "legal" right to do whatever you want but you have zero community support because, honestly, you're abrasive, condescending, uncollaborative, and self-righteous. Because of your attitude towards this community, I will actively encourage everyone I come across to abandon mkdocs which is largely comprised of other contributors' time and effort, not yours.

That's projection. I don't feel "indignant" or "angry" about the gender imbalance in open source. It does make me disappointed or sad or upset sometimes, since I've poured a lot of myself into the work. There's work I've put into open source that I feel genuinely proud of, except for ways that it's been derailed bit-by-bit into an all boys club.

Oleh unilaterally taking PyPI ownership of the project isn't okay with me. They don't have any rights to ownership here, and had their project admin removed when they took similar action in removing Martin from the team. #2442 (reply in thread)
