@lovelydinosaur you have taken an actively hostile stance to the open source community and it's clear your only goal is to further your own agenda that nobody here wants. You've alienated your single most important collaborator @squidfunk and you are actively torpedoing what used to be a great ecosystem. Now you're marking every comment criticizing you as "disruptive" and being insulting to male-identifying people. Yes, I saw the comments of yours that you deleted. It's clear you hate men. That's your prerogative, but it makes you an uncollaborative douche bag. mkdocs is dead. Its governance is highly chaotic and its creator @lovelydinosaur is self-nuking it into oblivion. Everyone should move to Zensical or to a mkdocs fork so that @lovelydinosaur cannot be involved any longer. |

Wow. Such hostile takeover is completely unacceptable. This is simply not how things are done in open source. I've been keeping tabs on MkDocs for a long time. Despite the never-ending drama since 2021, I was always hopeful that one day the project would get back on track. @oprypin you were concerned about its neglect, and decided to blow it up.
Zero support from my side. |

I'm not sure about all the facts that are happening behind MkDocs since 2021, but my feeling is that since @oprypin has left.was thrown away as a maintainer, there was not so much development happening inside MkDocs. I started to create my set of plugins in 2023 and so far it's a side project for me (and to be honest, didn't have much time in last year half a year to expand it + need to take care of my health at the moment). |

For the users arriving here without much context about what to do next, your best bet is to move to Zensical. It was built by the creators of Material for MkDocs and they provide an easy migration path. An update was posted earlier today that touches on plugin parity. Although some plugins are not yet available, it's worth mentioning that MkDocs plugins are a distinct concept separate from Markdown extensions. All of the extensions you are familiar with are supported and you can likely migrate today. |
