I am having the issue in #16963 but solely when debugging tests (not running them normally) with pytest in VSCode. I have the latest version of pytest, VSCode, and python 3.9.12. I am running with my interpreter set to my conda base environment but I also already set the default and testing default environments for the workspace as that interpreter and that did not change anything. I didn't have any of these issues until I updated pytest and python (3.8 to 3.9). My apologies if there is another thread for this, but I haven't found anything more recent similar to my issue.

If this is not a quick answer with a known thread or perhaps an insider update, please let me know and I will add the details for reproducing the issue.
