Test: Workbench Grid Layout Preview #67308

@sbatten

Description

@sbatten

This milestone we have a flag (disabled by default) to preview the workbench using grid layout.

Authors: @sbatten

To conduct the test, first enable the grid layout with workbench.useExperimentalGridLayout.

After enabling, try experimenting with...

  • Various layout commands. e.g. Toggle sidebar position, toggle status bar, zen mode, centered layout...

  • Resizing parts with the sashes.

  • Closing and re-opening code.

  • Using ** new ** toggle editor command to get just a terminal window layout. Note that something must be present in the window so currently, that's implemented by making sure either the panel or the editor area are visible.

  • Consider both with the native and custom title bar

  • Probably most importantly if you hit a bug, make sure that you can revert to disabling the setting and get to a working state.

Additional note After fixing the perf issue from last week, due to what I believe may be a bug in grid to split view layer, there seem to be a lot of new quirks where something will be visible but have no width or height. I need to work with @joaomoreno so testers should probably keep this open for Wednesday.

When filing issues, you can easily check for dupes by filtering to those assigned to me and having the tag workbench-layout. Please use this tag when you open an issue.
