Milestone
Description
Version: 1.109.2 (user setup)
Commit: 591199d
Date: 2026-02-10T20:18:23.520Z
Electron: 39.3.0
ElectronBuildId: 13168319
Chromium: 142.0.7444.265
Node.js: 22.21.1
V8: 14.2.231.22-electron.0
OS: Windows_NT x64 10.0.26100
Steps to Reproduce:
- Open the VS folder of the VS repo (Microsoft DevDiv internal)...it might repro with any very large workspace folder.
- Ask Copilot any question, such as "what is C++" with any model (GPT-4.1, Claude Sonnet 4.5, etc.),.
- Wait a few seconds and watch the memory usage rise.
Bug: The memory usage of VS Code increases past 10 GB and it crashes from an out of memory. Repros 100% of the time for me. The bug doesn't repro when doing the same repro steps in VS 2026.
