Now that we have local extensions (so we do not need to go through the Microsoft extension gallery for personal extensions) as well as ESM support (except for extensions... microsoft/vscode-test-cli#77) and Node ships with TypeScript support OOTB, I wonder if the extension host could be allowed to run native TypeScript local workspace extensions.
