MCP Server stopped working after updating to June 2025 release #255275

After updating my MCP servers aren't running and Chat cannot access them. I notice there is a new gallery view of the MCP Servers I have installed and right clicking on their entries don't allow me to start them. Likewise if I go to the json configuiration file
"C:\Users\bwesl\AppData\Roaming\Code\User\mcp.json"
I cannot start an MCP server there either.
Prior to updating it was working fine. I had just installed the Microsoft DevOps MCP Server and was using it. Now after updating I cannot, and can't see a way to ensure it ius running. None of the tools the MCP servers provide show on the list of avaialble tools too. Further suggesting the MCP servers aren't actually running.
I have also uninstalled and attempted to reinstall the MCP server extensions but there was no change. It still looks like they aren't running.
