Jupyter notebooks freeze on typing or executing #2783

VSCode Insiders (commit 57fd6d0195) freezes completely when working on a Jupyter notebook upon typing a few characters or executing cells.
I most often notice the problem when what I am typing is a python keyword or otherwise "special" e.g. a variable, package, method, etc. For example, if I want to type "list", the program only freezes when typing the final "t".
