Description
Steps to reproduce the problem
- Make a post that doesn’t have a quote
- Click “…” then “Edit” in the web interface
- Paste a link to a post you want to quote (as added in Add feature to automatically attach quote on eligible link past in Web UI composer #36364)
- Submit the edit
Expected behaviour
The quote shown in the composer after step 3 should still be there after step 4
Actual behaviour
The quote appears in the composer after step 3 as if it is successfully attached, but after submitting the edit, the quote isn’t there
Detailed description
I ran into this when I accidentally did a “fake quote” (i.e. link) post in a client that doesn’t support the official quote posts yet, and wanted to change it into a real quote. I remembered that you could attach a quote by pasting a link into the editor in the web interface, so I did that in an edit and it showed the quote in the composer, but then the quote was lost after I submitted the edit.
