This seems good, though I would have thought it would be sufficient to just add a message in the README and archive the GitHub repo (which will show a banner in the GitHub UI). |

I think just updating the README and archiving the repo should be good enough, it will also make it easier to refer to the code "as it was" in case of any issues |

Rationale
We have donated object_store to the ASF and so we should remove this copy to make sure active development continues int he correct place
