/ide install works but can't conntect on docker devcontainersΒ #6297

What happened?
i'm receiving this message after installing gemini cli companion extension on cursor + dev container.
β π΄ Disconnected: Failed to connect to IDE companion
extension for VS Code. Please ensure the extension
is running and try restarting your terminal. To
install the extension, run /ide install.
this happens while running the following commands:
/ide install/ide status/ide disable
this happens in both vs code and cursor when running in a dev container.
What did you expect to happen?
gemini cli companion to work for context diffing
