it would be good to be able to edit scopes for an application when connecting it to your account as well as afterward, so we can revoke specific permissions we don't think it needs

Motivation

currently we have to rely on an application only asking for the permissions it needs. if it chooses to ask for full read and write access to your account, your only options are to accept those permissions or not use the app at all.
