I'm thankful that Frescobaldi now shows up on the desktop with today's latest update (4.0.2-4) . However, the install still doesn't seem quite right - the Frescobaldi/LilyPond icon is missing from the desktop menu (it's also missing from the top left corner of the main application window itself). The desktop menu just shows a generic file icon. The only place the icon does show up is in the taskbar when the program is running.
