So JoAT should only apply to ability checks that actually use a proficiency (and you lack it) in the 2024 ruleset.

For initiative there seems to be special handling for making it not apply. For other raw ability checks (both through activities and manually via the sheet), the system will apply half proficiency even though it should not.
