[video_player] IOS app crashes without any error when the assets path is incorrect #118660
Description
While triaging one of the issues I found the IOS app was crashing and the error reported for the crash did not give any helpful message. After a couple of minutes of debugging only to find out that the assets path was incorrect which crashed the IOS app.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a new flutter app
- Add video_player plugin
flutter pub add video_player - Add the
assetsfolder in the root with an mp4 video file and add the path inpubspec.yaml - Replace
main.dartwith the below code sample

Note that the assets path is incorrect in the below code sample which reproduces the crash on IOS while an appropriate source error is reported on Android (complete log files available in the root of sample project)
Expected results:
The IOS app should not crash and the appropriate error should be reported.
Actual results:
App crashes without any error related to video_player
