This GNOME Shell extension allows you to get the currently focused window using a D-Bus call. This allows you to get the focused window on Wayland, where there is no other way to do this.
You can install this extension from Gnome Extensions
gdbus call --session --dest org.gnome.Shell --object-path /org/gnome/shell/extensions/FocusedWindow --method org.gnome.shell.extensions.FocusedWindow.GetReturn format is similar to the Details call of the
Window Calls extensions, because the
code is stolen taken from there, except there's no frame_bounds variable
since it caused GNOME Shell to crash for some reason. There's also a title
variable.
