Wrongfully decoded character will clear the diff-ed file on save #1187

Into a file, then open a new file , "compare with..." the first and apply the text to the new file.
On save, the new file is wiped out completely.
Deleting the й char solves the problem. The character was é originally, but at some point it was wrongfully decoded.
