A common problem with old games with video clips. I will focus on warcraft 3 (old patch 1.26).
On modern systems, in some games, bleached videos are observed (lacking contrast and having increased brightness).

It's interesting that if you take a screenshot at this time, everything looks normal on the screenshot (the following image is edited in Photoshop to look like on the screen).

The most interesting thing is that if you run this game on a virtual machine, everything is fine with the videos. Hence the question: who is to blame for this? Codecs? Driver? OS?

I tried everything possible. Installing other codecs, enabling windowed modes, changing the image bit depth, etc.
