REMOVE YOUTUBE SHORTS

An extension to remove YouTube Shorts from YouTube.

Removes:

• Shorts button on the sidebar
• Shorts section on the homepage
• Shorts section on the subscriptions page
• Shorts tab in channel, search and history page
• Short videos on the recommended videos when a video is open
• Short videos on search and history
• Everything related to shorts that we can identify in the HTML

The objective is to make it seem like shorts were never added to your youtube.

If you want to know exactly what is being removed you need to run the extension locally and remove the display: none !important; from the injectable.css file.

Why?

YouTube Shorts can be annoying, especially if you don't like them. This extension removes them from YouTube.

Installation

1. Clone this repository

2. Go to chrome://extensions

3. Enable the developer mode

4. Click on the "Load unpacked" button

5. Select the folder where you cloned the repository

6. Click on the extension icon to enable/disable the extension.

How it works

I just check if you are in an YouTube page and inject a CSS stylesheet to hide the shorts using the :has selector to find the shorts.
