fix the jank resize for logs on windows / gnome / mac os (sometimes) .

fixes #8217
fixes #8081

Tested on windows and works perfect now.

Edit: It's fixed on Windows so I landed this PR and raised a new issue: #8372

In GNOME, when I alt-tab I still see this:

Transient Flatpak error, ignoring CI false positive:
