What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Start another program that uses port 24800
2. Start server on port 24800

Expect: Port in use error
Actual: started server, waiting for clients

Additional information

If the port is in use by another program (common scenario for users switching from Barrier/Input Leap) and the server starts without error, this makes troubleshooting connection issues almost impossible for the average user.
