Client status does not show connected when log level below NOTE #8905

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Set log level to below NOTE (e.g. warning, error, fatal)
2. Connect client
3. Look at the status area on the client

Expect: Status says connected
Actual: Status says connecting (connect message is filtered out)
