As indicated in the comments section [1],[2] of issue #6834 there appear to exist environments on which a lower-than-default maximum resultsPerPage is enforced by infrastructure on NVD-side. Therefor it should be possible to configure a lower value than our hardcoded default of 2000 for such environments
