This PR is only updating the style and formatting to comply with the formatting guidelines of HA. The PR should not contain any functional update, only updates to comments, type annotation and layout.
The reason for doing this is that this lays the ground-works for PRs to come, and with this fixed here, the diffs on the coming PRs will be a lot easier to review.
