When a book without a cover is open, Home's behavior is erratic:

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open a book without cover.
2. Go to Home
3. Scroll up or down
4. Menu buttons change to black without text or blank

Expected Behavior

It should behave consistently, as when the book has a cover.
