Font is thicker briefly during a page turn #233

Describe the Bug
When changing the page, the font is initially much thicker than it's supposed to be until (I guess) the refresh finishes, and it becomes thinner. This is distracting since it takes a second or so for it to settle. The original firmware does not suffer from this issue.
