I've edited the original epub from the book and deleted everything except the 2 pages with the big images. These images are also present in the Google Books preview ( https://books.google.de/books?id=AfTLDwAAQBAJ&printsec=frontcover#v=onepage&q&f=false just below the "Also by Andy Weir" section selectable in the top right)

Unfortunately I don't know how to extract the metadata from the pages :(

Edit: Validated that this minimized epub with everything else removed also causes this issue on the X4 with CrossPoint firmware

Edit2:

if only the images themselves were affected I'd blame the 2-bit colors, but the UI elements are also affected
