LGTM; are the fuzzing folks aware of the issue with Go 1.20 + cgo? if not: ping @AdamKorcz

Yes, I have fixed the same for other projects. I think it will be fine to merge this and fix the fuzzing build if it breaks. I will keep an eye out for that.
