This is #258 by @tmorrell, plus:

  1. Resolved merge conflicts
  2. Re-added the deprecated "contIntegration" property, as we want to keep it in v3.0 (but remove it in v4.0)

Resolves #243

Re-added the deprecated "contIntegration" property, as we want to keep it in v3.0 (but remove it in v4.0)

And I just undid it, because we decided in #306 to skip it
