Quick follow-up: all current CI checks are green on this patch.

The code path here is intentionally small: --dir already overrides agent/scope for the actual install destination, so this change just stops the command from still forcing an unnecessary interactive agent selection step before that.

The remaining blocker looks procedural rather than technical: #13763 is not labeled help wanted, so if maintainers do want to take this external fix I'm happy to keep iterating here.

Addressing the requested doc note now.

I kept the behavior unchanged and only clarified the nuance inline: with --dir, the install destination is fixed by resolveInstallDir, while the default host is only retained for post-install hint output / shared metadata.
