📅 CHAOSScon Africa is Coming!
CHAOSScon Africa has been confirmed for August 13!
The CfP is open until June 20, and you can submit your proposal here.
This event is co-located with OSCAFest 2025, and will be held in Lagos, Nigeria.
🚫 Meeting Cancellations and Changes
Because of upcoming events and low attendance, there are some meetings that have been removed from the calendar. If you are subscribed to the relevant CHAOSS meetings, you should see this change reflected on your calendar, but just in case:

Also of note the Scientific Software in Open Source WG* has changed to every other Tuesday at 10:00 am US Central/Chicago time. The next meeting is Tuesday, June 24.
👩🏫 Two New Practitioner Guides Released
@geekygirldawn, @peculiaruc, and the Data Science Team have released two new Practitioner Guides:
The CHAOSS Practitioner Guides were featured in IEEE’s Computer magazine (June 2025) in an article titled, From Data to Action: Building Healthy and Sustainable Open Source Projects (PDF). Congratulations to @geekygirldawn for making this happen!

CHAOSS at UN Open Source Week, and Hosting Side Event
Our UN-SDG Working Group was born at the UN's Open Source Week in 2024. Fast forward to one year later and the group is thriving! Many of our CHAOTICs will be attending the week's activities (June 16-20), and we will be participating in the day of Side Events being hosted by various organizations.

With our CHAOTIC of the Month feature, we like to celebrate their contributions to CHAOSS and enable our whole community to get to know them a little better. It's a great way to show appreciation for our fellow CHAOTICs so don't hesitate to nominate someone through our CHAOTIC of the Month Nomination Form.
