What went wrong?

It seems some book covers that are a non standard size have the book spine overlay larger than the cover, see London rules in screenshot.

also the spine is not consistently displayed when enabled. so in the lovely looking series stack, if a book is in a series but i currently only have 1 book such as the two in teh screenshot, and also when viewing the series detail page

Steps to reproduce

enable book spine overlay, have a different sized cover or add a book series

Expected vs actual behavior

i would like it to be consistent when enabled for books
