It looks like JupyterLab 3 will offer dynamic extension loading, removing the need for users to run labextension. This should be investigated.

I am updating #ipyleaflet for #JupyterLab 3, you'll very soon not need to run labextension build commands anymore ;)

This will ease the installation process a lot
